Petitions for Indiana Corn Marketing Council Board seats open until June 1

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 30, 2026) — The Indiana Corn Marketing Council (ICMC) will accept petitions from farmers through Monday, June 1, 2026, to serve on its Board of Directors. ICMC will host elections in Districts 3, 6 and 9 and for two at-large seats.

ICMC works to promote, market and build demand for corn and corn products with the goal of supporting and growing Indiana’s corn industry. The Board directs the promotional, educational and research activities funded by the corn checkoff. The board’s priorities include increased ethanol use, improved transportation infrastructure, on-farm research, livestock promotion and expanding international exports.

To seek election as an ICMC director, farmers must be at least 18 years old, a registered Indiana voter and a resident in their district. Farmers who submit a valid petition by June 1 will be listed as a candidate on the ballot. Candidates must show proof of paying a corn assessment within the past two years. Voting will take place at county offices of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service from Aug. 10-14 or by absentee ballot, which will be made available in July.

Here is the breakdown of each district that will host an election this year:

• District 3 includes the counties of LaGrange, Steuben, Noble, DeKalb, Whitley, Allen, Huntington, Wells and Adams.
• District 6 includes the counties of Blackford, Jay, Delaware, Henry, Randolph, Wayne, Fayette and Union.
• District 9 includes the counties of Franklin, Jennings, Jefferson, Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio, Clark, Switzerland and Scott.
• Two statewide At-Large seats, representing all Indiana counties, are up for election.

Newly elected directors will begin a three-year term Oct. 1. ICMC directors can serve three consecutive full terms or a total of nine years.
