JR Roesner, Secretary of the Indiana Corn Growers Association, farms in Ferdinand, Indiana. Alongside his brother William, JR manages a sixth-generation farm near Holland, Indiana, where they grow soybeans, corn, and wheat across Dubois County and the surrounding areas. The farm focuses on producing food-grade corn and ethanol, reflecting JR’s deep commitment to sustainable and renewable agriculture.
JR graduated from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering, a background that enhances his expertise in the technical aspects of ethanol production. His dedication to advancing ethanol as a clean and renewable energy source has led him to serve as Vice Chair of the National Corn Growers Association’s (NCGA) Ethanol Action Team. In this role, he actively contributed to shaping policies that promote the use of ethanol, working closely with lawmakers at both the state and national levels. Currently, JR sits on the Trade/Transportation/Animal Ag Action team for NCGA.
Beyond his work on the Action Team, JR holds several key positions within the NCGA, including Governance Committee. His previous roles include acting as the board liaison to the Climate Smart Ag Alliance.
In Indiana, JR’s leadership extends to his Director role for the Indiana Corn Marketing Council, where he plays a vital part in promoting Indiana’s corn industry through checkoff. His work at both the state and national levels demonstrates his commitment to ensuring the success and sustainability of corn farming.
JR lives in Ferdinand, Indiana, with his wife, Charlotte, and their two sons, Clayton and Beau.
