Steve Phares

Steve Phares, an Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA) Farmer Leader from Albion, Indiana, has dedicated over 50 years to farming. His operation includes soybeans, corn, wheat, hay, rye for cover crops, and a herd of Angus crossbred cows. As District 2 Director on the ISA Board for three years, Phares serves as the Market Development Committee Chair and sits on the Membership & Policy Committee. He also represents ISA on the U.S. Meat Export Federation, advocating for the international promotion of Indiana beef and pork, especially in South America. One of his favorite checkoff investments involves training local butchers abroad on preparing U.S. beef and pork. Phares believes these export efforts add substantial value to Indiana’s crop and livestock industries.
