Books and Crayons

Indiana Soybean Alliance and Indiana Corn Marketing Council offer educational materials at no cost for community events and classrooms. Thank you for your interest in these materials! We’re excited to share a brand-new activity book — along with fresh packs of soy crayons! Check it out below:

PreK-2nd Grade

This book is about farmer Lily and all the great adventures she has on her corn and soybean farm. Readers will learn about soil, technology, livestock, products, biofuel. Each section has activities including puzzles, mazes, coloring pages, and riddles.

2nd-4th Grade

Join Ella, Max, and Liam as they take on a class project to learn about farming and find solutions to help the school farm. Readers learn about conservation, soil and water health, field management, technology, and regenerative Ag.

6th-9th Grade

The Secret of the Soybean is a choose your own adventure middle school novel taking readers on an adventure to grow the best crop of soybeans. Written by Indiana-native, Butler graduate, Annie Sullivan. There is a very limited quantity of books available and will be reserved for middle school classroom programs and at ISA’s discretion.

Soy Crayon

Did you know that soy wax crayons were invented right here in Indiana by a group of students at Purdue University in 1994? Students can get creative while also learning the benefits of soy-based products.

These materials are paid for by Indiana farmer checkoff dollars, and therefore only Indiana requests will be filled. ISA and ICMC have limits on the number of materials to be requested. Thank you for understanding. Please allow 4 weeks for processing and delivery. We cannot guarantee on-time delivery if requests are made without sufficient lead time. Order Educational Materials

Examples: 4th graders, Kindergarten, elementary school students

To ensure our free educational resources reach as many classrooms and organizations as possible, we’ve implemented new ordering limits. Each organization may request up to 200 total items (books or crayons) per order, with a maximum of two orders per calendar year. Thank you for helping us share these materials with a wider audience.
