The 2023 Indiana State Fair kicked off with great anticipation on Friday, July 28th and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Glass Barn, an iconic symbol representing the voices and stories of Indiana soybean farmers.

Throughout the past decade, the Glass Barn has been a hub for sharing the story of agriculture and farming with fairgoers. And for its 10th year, it’s been taken to new heights.

Newly renovated photo booths featuring exciting backgrounds and interactive functionality will make capturing state fair memories easier than ever before. Fairgoers can now scan a QR code or send an email directly from the booth, allowing them to take home cherished moments from the Glass Barn.

Also new this year, the Glass Barn takes an exciting step towards sustainability with the introduction of pollinator gardens that showcase native species. Located around the edges of the building, these gardens serve as a reminder of Indiana farmers’ commitment to the land they farm.

The famous BeanGo game is back with all-new questions, and the Glass Barn will be abuzz with BeanGo cardholders eager to win an exclusive 10-year anniversary Glass Barn hat.

And as always, we’re excited to welcome back the featured farmers. Over the last decade, farmers from eight family farms have had the opportunity to share their stories virtually, enhancing the understanding of farming to fairgoers, and putting a friendly face to farming. Prizes are given at every live farmer chat occurring at 11, 2 and 4 p.m. every day during the fair.

The Glass Barn has reached incredible numbers over the last 10 years – with over 150,000 people playing BeanGo, more than 180,000 photos snapped, and nearly 1 million visitors walking through its doors, leaving with a newfound understanding and appreciation for agriculture. Beyond the fair, the Glass Barn has welcomed over 100,000 students virtually and in person during year-round field trips.

As we gear up for the 18 days of the Indiana State Fair, we extend a warm invitation to all fairgoers to visit us on the north end of the fairgrounds. This year, we’re determined to surpass our yearly record for visitors!

Here’s to another decade of fun, farming, and friendships at the Glass Barn!
